The name of our country is the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Our country was a part of Pakistan before. Then we liberated our country and after nine months of liberation, we won. During the 1971 Liberation War, 3 million people sacrificed their lives. Our Independence Day is March 26th and Victory Day is December 16th. The national language of our country is Bangla. It is also a matter of pride for us that we are the only nation who have sacrificed their mother tongue on February 24, 2012. To pay their respects, UNESCO announced February 21 as the International Mother Language Day.
Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. It is the busiest and most populous city in our country. The total population is 16 crore. The total area of our country is 1,47,570 square kilometers. Our country is a riverine country. The major rivers in our country are Padma, Jamuna, Meghna. But due to pollution and pollution, all these rivers have shrunk. People of all religions live peacefully in this country but most of them are Muslim. Our country is the main country of agriculture. The agricultural varieties of this country earn foreign currency by importing and exporting crops. People in this country know how to live in happiness and peace amid poverty and national danger.
